Mishawaka's neighborhood bakery & grocery
From sourdough loaves pulled from the oven at dawn to pantry staples you can actually pronounce — Happy Healthies is the simple, honest grocery your neighborhood deserves.
Our Story
Happy Healthies started with a simple conviction: the food you eat should make you feel good, and the people who make it should care about the difference they're making. We're not a chain. We don't ship from a warehouse. We bake, stock, and serve right here on Grape Road — the same road you drive every day.
Everything we carry has been vetted for one reason: would we feed this to our own families? If the answer isn't a clear yes, it doesn't make it onto our shelves. That's not marketing — that's just how we live.
What We Carry
Sourdough, focaccia, ciabatta, and seasonal pastries — all baked in-house, every morning. No preservatives, no shortcuts. Just flour, water, salt, and time.
Organic grains, legumes, olive oils, vinegars, and spices — sourced from small producers who care about soil and sustainability.
Local and organic fruits and vegetables, rotating with the seasons. When strawberries are in season, we stock them. When they're not, we don't pretend they are.
Grass-fed dairy, free-range eggs, house-made cheeses, and prepared foods from regional farms. Everything kept cold, fresh, and clearly labeled.
Our Philosophy
Every product we carry comes with a label you can read. If we wouldn't put it on our own table, we won't put it on ours.
We prioritize producers within a reasonable radius. Your dollar stays in the community, and your food is fresher because of it.
Our inventory shifts with the calendar. We don't force summer produce into winter — and we don't apologize for it.
We'd rather be the store where you know the owner than the one with the fastest checkout. That's a choice we make every day.
